TRAVELCHANNEL.CO.ZA
Terms of Use
These terms apply when you browse our guides, create a profile, submit a discovery, embed an approved page or use another TravelChannel.co.za service.
Last updated: 25 August 2026
1. Using the service
You may use the public guides for personal travel planning. You may not scrape, copy, republish, sell, impersonate, interfere with, reverse engineer or use the service or its content to build a competing directory without written permission.
2. Accounts, submissions and removal
You must provide accurate information and protect your sign-in access. You are responsible for material submitted through your profile. TravelChannel.co.za may review, correct for presentation, reject, restrict, hide or remove a submission at any time, including after it has been approved or published, for moderation, quality, relevance, safety, privacy, legal, rights-holder, platform, partner or operational reasons. Publication is not guaranteed and creates no right to continued display.
A participating business may require a contribution to be removed from its own branded app, website or channels. That authority does not allow the business to remove content from unrelated TravelChannel town or business apps. TravelChannel retains control of moderation across the shared platform.
2A. Community purpose and responsible use
Submissions must support the tourism and local-discovery purpose described in the Community Guidelines. Ordinary family albums, casual friend posts, selfies and private social updates do not belong unless people are genuinely part of a relevant tourism story and the required permission has been obtained. Spam, repeated content, misleading promotion, harassment, dangerous disclosures and attempts to evade limits or moderation are prohibited.
Contributors must not encourage trespassing, dangerous activities, approaching wildlife, entering restricted areas or ignoring local rules. Where relevant, posts should include current safety, access, permit, road or weather information. Travel alerts must be based on the contributor’s own recent observations and must not contain rumours, threats, private personal information or unsupported accusations of crime or misconduct. TravelChannel may ask for supporting information or a response from an affected authority or business before deciding whether to publish.
TravelChannel monitors and moderates reports but cannot guarantee that a place remains safe or accessible, or that a community allegation is complete or correct. Visitors must verify current conditions with the relevant authority, property, park management or guide. Automated checks and human moderators may hold or reject content. TravelChannel may issue warnings, cooling-off restrictions, suspensions or account closure. Three confirmed warnings may lead to suspension or closure, but serious conduct may result in immediate action.
3. Your content, music and our licence
You retain ownership of original content you create. By submitting it, you grant TravelChannel.co.za the limited permissions described in our Copyright & Content Policy and in the choices you make on the upload form. You must not submit copied, downloaded or reposted work, music or recorded audio you do not have authority to license. You are responsible for the accuracy of your rights declaration. If social publishing is authorised, TravelChannel may mute or remove music or audio to meet copyright or platform requirements and may reject or remove disputed content.
4. Guides, locations and external services
Tourism details, maps, road conditions, availability, prices and sightings can change. Verify important information with the property, operator or relevant authority. Google Maps, booking platforms, social networks and other linked services operate under their own terms.
4A. Participating businesses and branded apps
A property, lodge, reserve, sponsor, tourism organisation or other participating business is not responsible for a community submission merely because it is mentioned or displayed in its branded or embedded TravelChannel app. Contributors remain responsible for their submissions and rights declarations. A participating business may require a submission to be hidden or removed from its own branded app or channels. It needs separately recorded permission before republishing contributor media on its own channels and is responsible for that separate use.
5. Creator Rewards
Creator Rewards is governed by its specific programme terms. Publication, views and approval do not guarantee revenue. Rewards are only calculated from qualifying platform revenue actually received and attributable under the programme rules.
6. Availability and responsibility
We work to keep the service useful and secure but do not promise uninterrupted availability or that every community report is complete. To the extent allowed by applicable law, use of travel, route and sighting information remains at your own discretion and risk.
7. Governing law and contact
Because the service operator is based in Germany, these terms are governed by German law. This choice does not remove mandatory consumer or data-protection rights that apply to a user in their own country. South African law may also apply to activities, content, people or processing connected with South Africa. Questions may be sent to travelchannel.co.za@gmail.com.
Legal review
This is a practical operating policy and should be reviewed by a qualified German/EU attorney, with South African advice where the activity or dispute is connected to South Africa, before formal commercial licensing, major payouts or a dispute.
